  • Flook (yno5.com/purgatory cruiser, SF)

Originally moved by classical music at the early age of three, electronica became Flook's main focus after discovering that his records sounded much better at 45RPM's. After being inspired by Carlos (San Francisco) in 1994 and George Parsons Red–Eye Radio Show, Flook decided to become a radio Dj at Nevada City's KVMR 89.5. He provided a weekly electronica based radio program for over five years entitled, 'Senseless Acts of Randomness.’ With the help of his friend Saba, both exposed Nevada County to electronic music events for the first time ever.

13 years of Burning Man and many parties later, Flook teamed up with the Yno5 crew and The Purgatory Cruiser in late 2006.

When asked what the future holds, Flook simply replies, "I want to be an
Astronaut when I grow up. I still believe in unicorns... do you?"

  • Eric Sharp (Rock It Science, SF)

One of the most versatile dj’s around, Eric Sharp is known to play anything from Deep and Funky House to Dirty Acid Techno to pumping Chicago beats to Baile Funk to Baltimore Club Jams to Wobbly Fidget House to French & Italian Electro and everything in between. Watching Mr. Sharp seamlessly mixing and layering tracks is entertainment in and of itself, and has caught the eye of promoters, dj’s, and producers alike.

  • Dj Dfunkt (Hitman/Easy)

Best know for hurling phat wax at turntables and dropping serious baselines over unsuspecting crowds, this "Santa Cruz skater kid" has come a long way from sneaking in mix-tapes at "kegger's back in high school" to opening for "String Cheese Incident" in front of thousands at "Sea of Dreams".

A true dj pioneer on the Santa Cruz scene since Jose's Cantina in the early 90's, Dave Marquez aka Dj Dfunkt gained notoriety with a five year residency at the Blue Lagoon producing popular parties "Pitch Control" and "House for Rent". A Metro bronze award winner for "Best DJ" in '96 and creator of Hitman Produktionz and the Beats Brigade, the late 90's were formative years that laid a foundation for a prosperous dj career. From sponsorship to "Operations Manager" for fashion brand "ESDJCO", '99-'03, Dave's rocked "Magic" in Vegas, ASR in San Diego and X-Games official post party in San Francisco. The list of bay area residencies and guest spots is long and wide, including undergrounds "Slide", "Anon Salon" and "NK7", with clubs, Space 550 , The End-Up, 1015 and Ruby Skye, and private corporate functions for Google, Adobe and HP.
Having recently spun the grand opening of Santa Cruz's new skate-park and the annual TMB Triple Crown Skate Contest in Scotts Valley, he continues to throw down beats with current residencies in SF at Wish, JohnColins, Lingba Lounge and Sushi Groove. Oh, and don't get it twisted, he can still ollie over your head.

  • Lil John (Raindance)

Lil John has been probably the singular most driving force of the SC scene since it all started. Creator and owner of Raindance Productions, he has been throwing parties near and far for as long as most of us have been dancing, most notably the infamous annual Freaker's Ball and Chinese New Year parties as well as one of the longest lists of local events anyone could muster.

A super nice guy, Lil John has always brought it to us and the SC scene wouldn't have been what it was without him.

He also plays good music... haha, no really, he's also one of the best djs of the area.

  • Pablo (Sugar)

After breaking out onto the Santa Cruz scene last year at the Blue Lagoon's Amazing Groove and djdas' full moon parties, Pablo adds a dedicated addition to the Sugar crew.

A super nice guy, Pablo is one of those people that is always ready to throw down at the drop of the hat. Be it lugging soundsystems through the sand or plunking down in the middle of the woods, you can count on calling him up and having a party happen that very night.

Just look for the smile behind the decks ;))
